Genius No More

Posted by misshermes on Jun 25, 2010 in Uncategorized

I used to think of myself as a genius for the fact that I didn’t need to study and I would still get great results. After all I scored straight As for my UPSR, PMR, and SPM subjects without even breaking a sweat. Well… Let’s just say that after coming to college, things don’t work that way anymore. Especially after looking at my “wondrous” results for my semester exam. Cambridge A Levels is on a totally different level than those government exams I took.

Well, as they say, pride comes before fall. And I took the fall rather… harshly.

The subject I scored the lowest was for Literature. Imagine. Literature! The one subject I put so much effort into by doing all the assignments and role plays and…. Okay. Maybe not. Maybe I didn’t really put much effort into Literature either. After all, I’m the one who didn’t even read King Henry IV and did my analysis lack thereof. But still………. *sigh*

As for Economics which I thought I’d fail since I sort of gave up on it after Mr. Arvind took over our class and skipped like half his classes and the one subject I didn’t even touch at all for the test… I scored better for it than Literature. How ridiculous is that? Or maybe it’s because I studied Economics during SPM so I had some basic knowledge that I could crap about for the essays. I don’t know.

And I crammed so hard the day before the Law exam but I still got crappy marks. I mean, I worked extra hard for Law since I missed 3 months of class but I still didn’t get the marks I wanted which was rather… sad. ):

For Psychology it’s rather expected since I didn’t bother reading anything either way. All I read was like… 4 experiments when we were supposed to read 14. -w-

The subject I scored highest was for Thinking Skills. Lolwut. The subject everybody dislikes and do not study for and the only one we take because it’s compulsory…. And I got highest for that. How amusing. Maybe it means that I have a lot of common sense? 8D

Ah, whatever.

I think I really have to start studying now. And to think I wanted to study during these 2 weeks break but I ended up being a hikkimori watching anime and reading manga all day without doing anything productive.

K-On! craze

Posted by misshermes on Jun 20, 2010 in Uncategorized

Today an incredibly amusing thing happened when I went to renew my passport.

I was at the counter with my dad signing the documents when suddenly I heard an incredibly familiar song coming from the officer’s computer behind the counter.

After listening to it a few more moments…… I realized it was…… “My Love Is A Stapler” which is one of the songs in the K-On! anime.

Even government officials watch K-On! now?!?!?! Omgwtfbbq what is this world turning into?!?! K-On! has taken over people’s livessssss…………………………..!!!

This world never fails to amuse me. LOL.

Of Pink Robots and Pigs

Posted by misshermes on Jun 16, 2010 in Uncategorized

Unyuu~ Do you believe that pigs can fly?

Photobucket
Super cute pink robot necklace I bought from Diva. I can’t decide whether I want it to be a girl or a gay boy robot. Hohoho.

Recently I watched Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (TOP!!!! I wish.) which was so awesomely hilarious and cool. <3

Forget overrated flying pigs, don’t you just LOVE pigs that can do synchronized swimming and climb trees? *O*

Of course my favourite part was when the pigs suddenly started doing synchronized swimming in the pool which was so insanely cool that I now want a little piggy for myself. Wee wee wee all the way home now piglet.

I also met a whole bunch of people that I know at 1 Utama the other day. Too many coincidences. I met about 8 college mates, Emily, Kuzuryu… and even my cousin. o____o Scary. And almost all of them were the ones who called out to me first. If they didn’t I probably wouldn’t have noticed they were even there. That’s how unobservant I am. OTL I could probably walk headlong into a pillar without me noticing. Tsk tsk.

Angel and me also ended up sitting next to three of our friends from college. Super coincidental much? Or maybe it is fate. And I ended up buying a brown cowboyish belt which I have no use for because none of my clothes match it. Which means I need new clothes. And I’m currently broke too. FML

Books books books

Posted by misshermes on Jun 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

I bought more books recently even though I know that I have a pile of books that I haven’t gotten to reading yet. It never used to be this way. I was the kid who would devour all my newly bought books and finish reading them all in a matter of days.

I loved books, craved for the fantasies and romance that would let my mind wander far far away. Maybe it’s because now I just feel too caught up with college to even read. I don’t know. :/

Photobucket
Four new books and two mangas. All fantasy <3

Photobucket
Books still waiting to be read.

At least I have 2 weeks break right now so I can finish reading them all by the time college reopens. I’m already done with 3 books and in the middle of my fourth one. *slept at 4am last night just reading OTL*

Also, I don’t get how people prefer lame old vampire romances over morbid and dark fairy tales which I love so so much. Move aside, Stephenie Meyer. Melissa Marr coming through. <3

Gâteau au Glace

Posted by misshermes on Jun 7, 2010 in Confectioneries

Last Saturday when we were at Solaris I was going to order my usual serving of ice-cream from Haagen Dazs when my dad suddenly decided that he wanted to try out their cakes and so we all ended up buying their “gateau” collection instead.

Photobucket
Haagen Dazs my lover.

Photobucket
Packed super nicely by the staff. They even added in dry ice to make sure the cakes don’t melt.

Photobucket
Aaaa~ It looks so lovely. <3

Sadly, as the phrase says, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. In this case, it’s don’t judge the cake by it’s appearance. Technically, this shouldn’t be called a “gateau” because it’s just ice-cream covered with chocolate on the outside and not a cake.

Names aside, I do not think this is worth RM23 per piece cause honestly, it doesn’t taste that nice. Or maybe it’s because I hate eating chocolate with ice-cream. I should have just gotten myself a double scoop serving of vanilla + strawberry cheesecake flavour as usual. ):

Mint Green

Two tops from Pull & Bear; Shorts from Forever 21

I find it rather hard to shop nowadays. Like when I went shopping a few days back, I couldn’t really find anything that I felt compelled to buy. I had to walk in to the same shops at least 3-4 times before I found something that I think I would want in my closet. OTL

The fact that I can’t really find anything that’s my size is also rather sad. Other than the discovery that Pull & Bear offers clothes in XS. Then again those two tops are XS sized and it still doesn’t fit me well. Maybe it’s because I’m so darn flat. I believe that a woman should at least be a C cup in order to look good in Western fashion. Then again I’m more of a Japanese fashion addict. If only they offered Japanese sizing clothes here.
:/

What about you guys who are also petite sized? Where do you shop for clothes? And don’t say the kids department kthxbye.

PS, I’m totally in love with my mint denim shorts. Such a pretty colour. And my totally awesome flamingo shirt. Hahahaha. <3
